  2. 956 was ab bustard. I was a 5 but a mate failed to solve id and lost a massively long streak! My streak is nothing great as I forgot to do it one day 🙁

  5. I’ve had a bit of a dodgy off season, I have to say. Three fives and a six since we were last at the tee. I’m hoping a good night’s sleep will reverse the streak in time to hit the First with renewed vigour in the morning. But it gets harder with each passing tournament to dig deep enough to find the desire to compete when you know Baron Ray’s going to rock up tomorrow and card a deuce on day one.

  8. Dearest chiz, any score I entered was as genuine as any other entrant apart from you. You who was the only entrant to register an albatross and not even that wine soaked idiot in France even made one of his snide comments when you did. I found to hat very telling.

    I will not be entertaining a deuce on day one because I am stuck after line two however I am hopeful of a three.

            • I realised it was a joke about 10 mins later. Like all your other funnies.

              A three- vowel starter is kind of like playing a wood off the tee rather than an iron. Why wouldn’t you?

                      A wedgie and a grope. It’s not how I like to start each day, I prefer a bowl of Bran Flakes and a little stroll, but far be it for me to judge.

                    • I’m thinking what with you,@Gary, being an Italian peasant and all, you are struggling with the Wordle/Golf comparisons? Let me elucidate….

                      Players, who shall remain nameless (let’s call two of them @Chiz and @Leedsboy), think both golf & wordle(and most probably life) is one big competition. They stand on the tee and take out their biggest and bestest clubs (pause for Moose to comment). Every hole, they drive 400 yards to the edge of the green, chip to within three inches of the hole and tap in (pause for Moose to comment). Oh look, another birdie….
                      Other players, free spirits if you will, take the opposite approach. A wedge (not a wedgie, you fool) is produced and the first shot is shanked eighty yards into a gorse bush. After much huffing and puffing (and much merriment) the green is finally attained. Unfortunately the putter has been left at home. Ah well, better luck next hole (pause for Moose to comment).

                    • I was struggling with the Wordle/golf comparisons. Now I’m struggling with the word “elucidate”.

    Very, very quick par. They call me “Blizzard” Black Celebration at the clubhouse due to how quickly I can get around the course. It’s either that or the dandruff.

    • I remember when you first cycled up to the course, a callow but excitedly innocent youth, happy to be in the company of the hackers and duffers who can but dream of the leaderboard.
      Now look at you – you drive up in your Maserati, acknowledge the presence of your old friends with a curt nod, whip out your fancy driver and that’s the last we see of you until the Winners’ Ceremony.
      We comfort ourselves with the thought that “One day we’ll be as good” but we know in our heart of hearts we never will.
