Well OofS is stone cold classic but Ive never fully investigated the other Rustin Man albums (however they don’t have BG participating). I guess you have listened to the Mark Hollis solo album? If not then I would urge you do so – quite different to Talk Talk (from memory no electric instruments) but quietly (very quietly) rather devastating.
Yep, bought the Hollis album on release. Tried to get into it but to avail. My memory tells me it was similar to the last two TT albums which I like but don’t love at all.
Just given this its first listen, having not heard any tracks before. May I say I think that it is superb, although I should probably give it another five spins before I declare that. It has made for a nice Friday morning in the office.
Beautiful
I’ll be buying that, and the Roseland concert reissue.
Why on earth are they not reissuing that on Blu-ray? I have the DVD, so I doubt I’d buy it again, but still.
I’ve heard a couple of tracks on 6 Music. Certainly sounds promising.
Out of Season is a great album.
Yes OofS is terrific. Looking forward to hearing the new one.
Massive Talk Talk fan here, especially TCOS but not so much the revered last two.
Never investigated the solo albums, Rustin Man and O’rang. What am I missing?

The Colour of Spring however, what an album!
My spreadsheet (yeah, I know…) tells me I have Herd of Instinct by O-Rang. Watch out for ‘help’, Freddy. Tomorrow, if I can get it together.
You’re very kind!
Check your PMs, Fred.
Bugger. I mean thanks. Just seen your message. I’ve missed the boat
Check your PMs @Freddy-Steady
Yep, made it this time! Thank you very much!
There’s a short interview in the current issue of Mojo.
20 years? Are you overlooking her singing in Polish in 2019 for Gorécki’s Symphony of Sorrowful Songs?
How about her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar (2022)?
No I am not. 20 years since Out of Season.
Only thirty years since Dummy
Only on the Afterword would it be “only thirty years”. Yeah, only the time between Songs For Swinging Lovers and Licensed to Ill. The blink of an eye
I was thinking 20 years since her last full album of original songs, but apparently “Third” by Portishead came out in 2008 so just the 16 years then.

Thanks for giving the post a boost. I had forgotten all about this and it seems the album was released today.
Resident have sent me an email to say it’s on the way!!
If you stream it’s already on Amazon and presumably other services.
Mine arrived today. Nothing much has really grabbed me this year but, two listens in, I have a feeling this will be competing for album of the year.
Excellent! My vinyl copy has been delayed a few days, looking forward to it
