@nick-l Mr Elms is a great writer and broadcaster…..but he does think the world revolves around him, like a Zelig in Bowie Trousers. I remember him “discovering” Jazz in the 80s before anyone else (eye roll)

@salwarpe I recently discovered that there was an attempt to resurrect On The Buses in 1990. I believe a pilot was made with the originals, who would now be running their own private Bus company. Obviously the […]

@pessoa There were other ITV double acts – Mike and Bernie Winters, Hall & Pace. Even Morecambe and Wise started and ended their TV careers there. Don’t think Cannon & Ball really stand out from the crowd.

@jaygee I did rewatch Bill Brand on DVD during lockdown. It felt like it could have been written this decade, the issues about tensions in the various arms of the Labour Party are still very similar. Nice cameo as […]

Enjoyed the viewing last night. I always love that version of Philosophers Stone from Later, particularly the solos. I know the sublime guitar playing is Mick Green but does anyone know the name of the sax player […]

@fentonsteve That’s a good list. I’ve only come up with Spearlike Pain Of Destiny Crowded Home and the rather grim SClub1

One tonight it seems. Alan Tyler of the Rockingbirds guesting on Lee Anderson’s GB News show. A friend texted me in glee. Haven’t seen it myself (nor am I likely to)

I always associate this era with the pirate radio station, Alice’s Restaurant. Can’t remember who but they had one weekend DJ with 3 hours of the “new Prog”.
