I’ve just found something I want for Christmas. I’m pretty sure there are others amongst us (do we still call ourselves the Massive?) who will be similarly tempted.
If you’re not a Feat fan though, I’m sure there are other Afterword-friendly pressies you covet. So what will you be asking Santa for?

Santa’s under strict instructions to gently lower the Kinks mono vinly box down the chimney. If I’ve been a very good boy, he might consider adding the Bob Marley Island box too, but that may have to wait. Otherwise, Brix Smith’s Fall memoir would be nice, but unlikely to hold a candle to Steve Hanley’s wonderful autobiog, The Big Midweek.
Well, Bartle, if Santa isn’t able to bring you the entire Kinks mono box set, then maybe he can bring you ‘something else’.
You really got me there!
I am hoping for Brooces book. I hope it is better than Costello’s last year. I don’t ask for music as, apparently, I am too difficult(?!)
*Spoiler alert*
Listening to the Bruce tome as an audiobook right now. He reads it himself, you know.
It’s just as beautifully written as his songs and his enthusiasm for music (and his eye for detail) pours off the page (or out of the speakers).
The chapter on discovering the Beatles for example is so good, so effusive, so damn full of wonder, it almost brings a tear the eye.
I’m not a huge Bruce fan, but this is shaping up to be a great book.
Oooh good call with the audio book. It’s on my list. I’m not after much this year – various books etc, the Van CD but nothing exciting. I already have that T shirt! 😀
I find audiobooks are perfect for long solitary car journeys. No interruptions, so you can concentrate on every word
Yes the Daily adventures of Mixerman one from a few years ago was quite superb.
Of course you do Twang 😄
I honestly have no idea what I want. I’m trying to get rid of stuff rather than accumulate it at the moment.
My windows need replacing, so if anyone has a few grand to spend on me then that would be just dandy, but other than that I’d be perfectly happy with a gift of the charity goat variety. At least I wouldn’t have to find house room for it. They do deliver the goat direct to the family, right?
OMG OMG OMG
*wets self*
I WANT THAT T-SHIRT.
Link please.
