It seems that from today we can no longer use Imgur in the UK. I have no idea if I used a VPN to post an Imgur link whether it would show for other UK users.
Any substitutes we could use?

I’ve had a look at one of my posts which had an imgur picture on but clicking on where it says “see post on Imgur” just gives the error message so possibly using a VPN would not work.

Reading that, looks like a rather dubious company. I will look for an alternative for posting here.
Imgur doesn’t like VPNs, you get told that it’s running over capacity. Neither does the Afterword, by the way – I often get a page you’re looking for doesn’t exist message if I forget to turn the VPN off.

I had a quick look at a couple of lmgur aternatives yesterday – see my thread moaning about EVRi’s incompetent and shoddy service:
Like you, I found it easy to upload images and obtain a link, but no clear way of editing the links so that they just appear as you’d hope within a comment. Further experimentation – or help from a better clued-up html jockey – may reveal the answer.
Apart from a few font amendments (italic, bold, blockquote) and hotlinking words, I haven’t seen any options for experimenting with html on this site – probably for good reason. I still mourn all those lost posts from the crash of more than a decade ago…

Proton Free @vulpes-vulpes. Has a few limitations like it assigns you a server, choosing one requires a sub but I only set it up out of interest and it was mentioned in the article I read. Takes 3 minutes to set up – download app, create password. That’s it
