Interestingly, Albania have qualified for the Euro 2024 football tournament, topping their group above the Czech Republic and Poland. The days when Albanian football was a bit of a joke are long gone.

Have any other Afterworders read “Free”, Lea Ypi’s account of growing up in Enver Hoxha’s Albania in the 1980s? It’s a cracking little book! I went to see a talk she gave here in Stockholm, too. Very interesting.

1. Yes – you can certainly do someone a mischief with an electric shaver. 2. The cover of the Black Uhuru album listed the title as “Youth of Eglington”, with a ‘g’ between the first ‘n’ and the ‘t’. But the […]

I have a children’s picture-book in Welsh, called “Y Broga”. It would appear to be about a frog. There don’t appear to be any mentions of frogs in dai’s review of the Bob Dylan Budokan set.

Mike_H: Kaisfatdad and I saw the Necks live in Stockholm last night. It was my third Necks gig and KFD’s fourth. They were absolutely outstanding. Am confident that you’ll love the concert in London.

Bought 13, heard 13. For what it’s worth, I think this is a pretty good list, although I’m surprised there’s no place for the Mitski album on it. With any luck, it’ll lead more people to check out some of the […]
