It seems that as with Springsteen the new owners of the catalogue want to start recouping their money as soon as possible!

Musings on the byways of popular culture
Woah… this is better than the final version I reckon.
Looks like standalone Blu-ray may be the way to go here.
From SDE:
The blu-ray in the box set is fantastic, in terms of content, and is identical to the standalone blu-ray. It features the album in the following audio streams, including a brand new Dolby Atmos Mix, by James Guthrie.
2025 Dolby Atmos Mix
2011 5.1 Surround Mix
1975 Stereo Mix
1975 4.0 Quad Mix
Additionally, the blu-ray offers the 9 bonus tracks from the 2CD and 3LP, in hi-res stereo. But most interestingly, exclusive to the blu-ray (and digital), is something called Live Bootleg. This is 16 live recordings captured by the renowned bootlegger Mike Millard at Pink Floyd’s Los Angeles Sports Arena concert on 26 April 26 1975, meticulously restored and remastered by Steven Wilson! The Blu-ray Disc also repeats the 1975 concert films and Storm Thorgerson’s Short Film (from 2000) from the 2011 DVD and blu-ray.
I’ve gone for that version – reasonable price for what you’re getting. This has been an expensive month – Drums and Wires Blu-ray, the Feat TLRA box and now this !
£220? I love the album but they’re having a giraffe.
It’s really about time that they did summat with Dark Side Of The Moon.
The standalone Blu-Ray is sold out dammit! That was bloody quick.
Still available on the Pink Floyd store….

Seems that is unavailable to people in the UK….?
Maybe as the link is the store I see from here. Try searching for the Pink Floyd store from the UK and it should be correct.
Available here to pre-order although I doubt there’ll ge any shortage when it’s released

Although it seems cheaper at Burning Shed…a very reasonable £22.99.
By the way, anyone else see Alex Petrides’s list of 20 best Floyd songs in the Guardian? “Wish You Were Here” at number 1.
https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2025/sep/11/pink-floyd-20-best-songs-ranked
It works if you replace “best” with “most popular”…
Louder Than Words shouldn’t be anywhere near any list of best Floyd songs.
Agreed.
In fact, the list might have been assembled by someone who had read some articles about Pink Floyd but not actually listen to any…
I suspect any list of ‘songs’ by the Floyd would differ from the one I would make, and that’s probably true of any artist, although the various Floyd eras are more divisive than many perhaps..? Also, we tend to talk about their albums rather than individual tracks.
I have no problem with Louder Than Words personally, and would have had Echoes at 1, and included Arnold Layne somewhere, but there you go.
Echoes would also be my number one. Nevertheless (and accepting your point about lists and individuals) that is the “safest” list of PF songs I’ve ever seen. Writing to his perceived readership?
I think the ‘song’ is overrated. As soon as bands make catchy singalong tunes with lyrics that are easy to get, then it’s all less interesting. See also REM. I need mystery and mystique.
Much as I dislike The Final Cut, I’d put Two Suns in the Sunset high up my Floyd list. They should have ended their career right there.
I don’t think I’ve ever got all the way through it. It sounds like reject outtakes from The Wall. Oh.
Then Another Brick in the Wall would win! Doesn’t even make the 20 unless I missed it
Thanks for that. But I suspect if you took a vote of favourite PF songs these days (particularly among the Guardian readership), Wish You Were Here would win by a mile, despite its not having been a Christmas number one more than 40 years ago.
I have no idea. Looked like a pretty diverse list to me rather than “most popular”. Anyway there is no “best” list. They are his favourites I presume.
No, no – there is a “best” list. It just happens to contain all my favourites. 🙂
