I’m fond of their second album, Remote, but haven’t ventured outside of that. Not sure exactly why, but it’s probably that they completely nailed it. It’s really good. I should have a listen to other stuff of theirs.

I also keep coming back to that one lately. I saw him play once (Manchester, I think…? Might have been late 80s) and he was a force of nature really, almost avant-garde in that he sounded like nobody else.

The whole thing is grubby, embarrassing and a bit of a head-scratcher. I don’t think they can have made much money, and are unlikely to do so.

Arabella Weir addresses this in the show, about how badly women were treated back in the 90s and so on. It’s a much better show than a standard live comedy, they do reminiscences and mix in some stripped down sketches.

You and I have almost certainly bumped into each other. People talk about the Manchester music scene, but the comedy scene was just as great.

Of course it is. I thought the next couple of albums were even better, and the live album is ace. They were a tight blues-rock-soul band and knew how to put on a show.
