There’s no bigger fan of Waters music than Bargepole, but I do wish he’d concentrate on more recent solo material – good as the Floyd stuff is, we’ve heard it so many times now that it’s rather lost its lustre.

The Waiting For Columbus album is reissued as an 8 cd set in July – the original album plus the two concerts the tracks were drawn from in full, plus a previously unreleased show from Manchester.

Of the ‘sequels’, I’d also recommend Colonel Sun by Kingsley Amis and Devil May Care by Sebastian Faulks, but if you’ve never read any of the original Fleming novels then they should be your starting point really, Baron.
