A quick shout out for the third series of The Corrupted, currently on iPlayer Radio and well worth a few hours of your time. The story of a London crime family has reached the 70s and Joseph Oldman, played by Toby Jones, is still avoiding the law while engratiating himself with rising politician, one Margaret Thatcher as well as trying to get the better of a paedophile nobleman. Five brilliant episodes that would grip you on you daily commute.

Yes, I am listening to it too. The first series was brilliant, although I missed the second. Toby Jones gives a memorable performance as Joey, now gone up through the social strata and calling himself Joseph. It also shows how enmeshed the criminal network was with corrupt coppers. Joseph’s son Brian and brother-in-law Jack are very strong characters (or psychopaths in Jack’s case).

Used to quite often catch the earlier series on my work van radio whilst driving about.
Gritty stuff.

I am a big fan of radio 4 output mostly listening on my iPod. I hadn’t come across this before but it looks good and I am encouraged by the testimonials above. Luckily the first two series are available on YouTube so I have stuck them in iTunes to listen at my leisure.
