Interesting blog from No Depression making the case that 1973 was the greatest year for roots music in terms of crossover, future major artists appearing and even some commercial success. Something of a niche topic and tumbleweed might fit the landscape but some here will find it interesting….

I think it’s an interesting piece, especially with respect to Micky Newbury, who not that long ago would be name that many (including myself) would have said Micky Who?
If he saw fit to support Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Kris Kristofferson and Rodney Crowell in their younger days he was obviously someone wh knew a talented songwriter when he spotted one.
I think DH would say that if you think there’s a book there, write it yourself.
