@pessoa There were other ITV double acts – Mike and Bernie Winters, Hall & Pace. Even Morecambe and Wise started and ended their TV careers there. Don’t think Cannon & Ball really stand out from the crowd.

I saw it described as School of Rock rebooted with Japanese schoolgirls playing Swing. I think it would be right up my street,@Pessoa.

Thanks for bringing us over to Japan, @Pessoa. i suspect there are several treasures to be found. I stumbled across Swing Girls from 2004 a story about some school girls who form a jazz band. No left-wing, […]

Wow @pessoa that’s a confession indeed. I haven’t listened to the album in a very long time. I might have to dig it out now to refresh my memory. Having seen them live, I’d imagine conversing with them was like […]

That Deee-Lite song was a ginormous hit here in Sweden @Pessoa and was played everywhere. A major earworm and a fantastic track I did a check. According to Wiki it was “a top-ten hit in multiple countries.” And […]

Excellent point @Pessoa. But perhaps that’s another cartoon, novel, comic, TV show or movie? A band, movie or a TV show where one individual outshines all around them. Record companies always seem to be very […]

What an astonishing opening scene @Pessoa. I’ve never seen it before and I was totally gobsmacked. Astral melancholy indeed. I googled. Popol Vuh and Herzog did several films together. Here’s Herzog talking […]

Excellent example @Pessoa. I had to check their birth dates to be sure, but, as I suspected, Browning was one of the younger generation who felt let down by a man who had been one of his idols. It’s a great […]

Very amusing @Pessoa! It is odd. Rock and roll was a tidal wave conquering the world in the 1950s, whereas jazz was a rather minority interest. And now the tables have turned!
