Dear fellow Afterworders I need your advice.
An old friend of mine is finally getting hitched. His lady has decided to make an honest man of him.
Now, they are music people and I am looking for suggestions as regards a wedding gift.
I regret I am but an occasional visitor to these hallowed halls.
In the past the Afterworders have offered sage advice on many things.
So I would welcome suggestions, which would not break my very small bank.

From the groom’s speech: “I’d like to thank those who gave us such wonderful wedding gifts – the toaster, the kettle, the John Lewis vouchers, the Mellotron”
Mellotron? Surely the Tibetan anus flute would be far more ‘Afterword’ whilst recognising the ‘something blue’ tradition.
Krummhorn?
Sorry to be not a lot of help.
Sod John Lewis, Amazon vouchers. (Yes, yes, I know we all deplore their employment and tax practices but, you know……)
…at least they don’t do those fuckin’ cheesey Christmas ads.
If they are both music fans then how about a pair of framed album cover prints of each of their favourite albums ?
Hi Crisf that is a very good idea. I was sort of thinking along those lines myself
Check out redbubble.com for The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway throw cushions, and all sorts of other music related paraphernalia. Mugs, prints, t-shirts etc. I have just bought a new set of six mugs from them, each with a different album cover: Can – Tago Mago, Genesis – Selling England by the Pound, Kinks – Powerman, New Order – Power Corruption Lies, Brian Eno – Another Green World, Pink Floyd – Meddle.
Not sure what your budget is, but this type of things is my go to gift for music types.
Stick a frame on it and it’s a nice thing for the house.
Plenty of other similar things elsewhere on the website.

I don’t know why this comes to mind but what about a ukulele? You could even get one engraved? If by “music people” you mean they are actually musicians, then absolutely any musician I’ve ever met would always appreciate another instrument to add to their collection.
Thanks Arthur. Alas, 1 drummer only. Mind you something in the uke line that could be hung on a wall.
There’s many a uke player I’d like to hang on a wall….
More seriously, if they do not have one then a decent Bluetooth speaker for the kitchen will surely please both, even if it’s just to hear The Archers right at the end of the garden. We have one of these and it is a 50watt beast.
