Most excellent. The instrumentation and sound put me in mind of Ommadawn era Mike Oldfield.

Fascinating. Looks like a mash up between a sparrowhawk, a cuckoo and a cockatiel.

Has it ever been revealed what this curious feeling was? I wonder if it was humility or empathy.

The five track 81-82 EP was an old favourite that was sadly stolen at the aforementioned frisbee party. That EP contained superb 12″ versions of Everything’s Gone Green and Temptation. But those early 12″ tracks […]

I’ve never really warmed to the New Order remixes, and I consider myself a moderate fan of their 80s/early 90s work. I still have those fancy Factory tape boxes of Lowlife and Brotherhood. Years ago they were used […]

Hey operator! Does anyone else hear 5-7-0-5 by City Boy when they read ‘new cancel reply’?

I suppose L’Apocalypyse des Animaux by Vangelis has an autumn/winter vibe. It’s perfect for a rainy Sunday under a heavy Normandy sky, gazing out into the gloom, lamenting the end of something.

Thanks for the heads up on this @Bargepole. A very enjoyable half hour, with many insights that were new to me. The AI stuff on separating tracks was fascinating.

It’s years since I’ve listened to it, and Nature’s Way is the only track I can recall. Not a huge fan of Randy’s voice. Future Games, with it’s cool ambience, is the one I tend to reach for, if I’m reaching in […]

Is this an opaque Inspiral Carpets reference?

It’s dense and wordy, I’ll give you that. It’s also the last great adventure left to mankind.

I was never very fond of Steve Hackett’s riding boots look that he seemed to adopt in the period between Gabriel leaving and his own departure. It wasn’t full-on Georgian dandy, but it was on the way.

I’m sort of with you on The GD, but I did find Long Strange Trip, Amazon Prime’s documentary series on the band, very agreeable and illuminating. It opened the door for me a bit, but not enough to head off on any […]
