The best Beatles song of today or any other day is A Day in the Life.
They were a pop group. Something else. Something more. They changed everything.
And after the song’s final chord, there was nothing else left to do.
The correct answer is Strawberry Fields Forever. Pop yet experimental. Abstract yet personal. Perfect.
Is the right answer. And the “acid is the thing, mate” video is really trippy and marvellous.

Things We Said Today was written with the Searchers in mind in 1964 – Lennon loved Needles And Pins – but they weren’t an Epstein stable act so it never happened.
… and one-sixth of the simply brilliant side 2 of “A Hard Day’s Night.”

Indeed! You can tell the first side was done in a bit of a hurry to meet the film requirements, but Side 2 is noticeably a step forward…I’ll Be Back, When I Get Home, Any Time At All….great stuff. The only all Lennon/McCartney album of course – extraordinary for the time.
AHDN is an absolute belter of an album, a massive leap on from With The Beatles. Barely a duff note.

As much as I agree that TWST by the HJH is a fabulous song the correct answer always was, and will always be SAW.
The melody at the start of the chorus (in my ears) was blatantly nicked by Soft Cell on “Torch” (See her eyes, They are bright tonight, See the stars, Coming out tonight)
I heard this once, and can now never un-hear it.
