I`ve not watched this yet but I certainly will. Here`s the show described as “one of the greatest sets in Farm Aid history”, the performer? Neil Young. No more to be said.
Ant there’s me thinking Neil had taken the year off playing live…
I downloaded the HD version from Dimeadozen and played it loud on my plasma and surround sound. Truly great stuff. Neil is clearly winging the setlist as the pump organ sits there unused (by Neil anyway). A shortish set that includes Cortez, Like A Hurricane AND Rocking In The Free World. Blimey, you can count yourself very lucky if you get any ONE of that Holy Trinity in a full length Neil set.
Great stuff. Seems I got all 3 (and Powderfinger) on the Broken Arrow tour in 96. Would probably add Down by the River to that epic category which was also played:

Ho, yes,
seems rather Neil.
Tiptop
Blimey, just when you thought Neil was gettin’ old.
Great stuff! Thanks for that.
Nice to see him still using Hank’s guitar. (Acoustic Martin d28).

Respect.
He played two of those in Sweden last summer. Had he played Hurricane too, I would have lost it. It’s possible I did anyway.

That was excellent.
Thanks for sharing. Off to re-discover all my Neil Young CDs!
