It’s funny but I actually give a shit about these things now I’m in my 60’s. I find it quite incredible that the council or whoever is responsible for upkeep of the local landmarks have neglected to cover up the graffiti that has been sprayed over the beautiful Mini-Lighthouse up the road in Arbroath for the past 6 months. It’s the first thing visitors see as they come into the town from the south and I can only imagine the disappointment so many visitors will have felt as they saw it and thought awww, how sad it looks. I’ve complained to the council and I would be happy to paint it if the powers that be gave me a 2.5ltr tin of Signal Red, though I’d probably be arrested if I just went ahead and did it!

Yes there’s an old wall on the way into Hitchin where some scrote sprayed graffiti years ago and it’s never been cleaned off. Annoys me every time I see it. There was a local graffiti vandal who sprayed Zen everywhere for about 18 months and were finally caught and I hope slung in a deep dark dungeon.
slung in a deep dark dungeon and made to listen to the sound of one hand clapping
There’s little I enjoy more than a litter pick.
How many cats do you have?
Just the one. It’s the fruit of the Dog Poo Bag tree which I can’t abide.
Unfortunately Gardener it’s what it is these days, no respect, no ownership and folk are bogged down with shit that takes up time and they are being jumped on to do the meaningless stuff. No matter that “the Shit” that is so important isn’t really. As the lad Prince said, it’s the Sign O’ the Times.
I just dropped into my local charity shop to drop some singles in and told the lady behind the counter about the Lighthouse and she said that last night our local War memorial had been sprayed on. I walked over the road and took these pics, it’s a scumbag epidemic!

There’s an old stone wall opposite a river near where I live that had a fish built in to the pattern of the stonework. Every since I’ve lived here – well over 20 years now – from time to time someone fish gets the fish a lick of paint, and every time you drive past, it’s a little moment of pleasure seeing what colour the fish is now. Well, guess what colour the fish is now? Yep, it’s got a fucking cross of St George painted crudely on it…
Paint a rainbow on, that would freak out the Faragisti.
Rocking good news, the council have relented and posted on the main Arbroath FB page that they are sorting it in the spring. They already have the paint apparently and want to do some small repairs before they (pay 3 men hundreds of pounds, probably) get it sorted early 2026, so I guess it’s a win for moaning about it and posting on their page.
Top notch neighbourhood watching
If they repair, clean up and repaint the entire thing then that’ll be good.
Until the next scrote graffitis it again, of course. Hopefully they’ll keep a stock of paint in the exact same shade for that eventuality.
This is all getting slightly tabloid adjacent but I think the legal system over uses prison where there ample opportunities for useful community service, such as graffiti removal.
