After the Queen’s big bash and Carolina’s modest but more moving send offs, both services carefully designed by the deceased themselves, I wondered if anyone else had arranged their own funeral.
Personally, I’ve dropped the odd hint about the music I would like to be played but, unhelpfully, I change my mind all the time. Some days, I’m inclined to be buried in a grow bag to feed a tree. Others, I quite fancy being shot into the sky in a firework. Mostly, I’m attracted by the thought that my roaring drunk mourners will have a punch up and have to sober up in a police cell. I have toyed with putting some money aside to pay for it, with a note saying, “Don’t waste good wood nor kill any beautiful flowers.” Still, for now, I just occasionally think about it but do nothing.
How about you?
