Another one gone. I love the Moodies and got to see them several times – once back in 1969 and then a couple of times in recent years and they are a bit of a go to on a Sunday afternoon. Only Justin Hayward left now.

I’m a long time Moodies boy – one of the First Seven Albums persuasion. The soundtracks to my entire secondary education years. I never got to see the full band, but I did catch Justin and John on the first Blue Jays tour – a magical gig for me. RIP John, and condolences to all of his family and friends.
EGBDF was the first LP I bought so they and their classic 7 albums have always held a special place in my heart. I was lucky enough to see them in the mid 80s. John was touring Days Of Future Passed earlier this year. I wish I had gone now. RIP John.
Not on a Tuesday afternoon, Nigel?
I’ve just read a ‘tribute’ to him posted by Tony Visconti on Facebook. As usual, TV makes it all about TV…

Thanks. Loved his playing but surprised that Bass Player magazine voted him in top ten bass players of all time as cited in Wikipedia.
Also, they say the family said he died suddenly and unexpectedly, Visconti refers to a long period of suffering.
