She’s doing mine in October but unfortunately I’m busy that night. I’d rather see her somewhere small than the Albert Hall which I don’t particularly like as a venue.
Everybody seems to play the RAH nowadays, don’t they? Acts that would struggle to fill medium-size venues like the Cambridge Junction (she’s playing the Storey’s Field arts centre, cap: 200 ish, sold out, on Saturday), seem to have a lap of honour round the Albert Hall at the end of the tour.
Props to Nerina, but I can’t really think of anywhere worse to see a pop gig. I saw The Human League there years ago and the sound was atrocious. There’s a new venue PA system since, but the room just wasn’t made for amplified music.
When I saw Jeff Beck there you had to join an orderly queue to complain about the sound. Mind you I saw King Crimson there with three drummers so it can be done.

Blimey. She’s playing my local arts centre at the end of the month, £15 and tickets still available.

The local arts centre has the notable advantage of being less than 15 minutes walk from our house.
Handy.

Very little opportunity for staging or backdrops either, though lighting can be spectacular.

…tomorrow The West Runton Pavilion.
She’s consciously touring small venues. Probably works well for both of them.
