So, I mentioned in the ‘Vote for Colin’* post that I would be posing a question which would, most likely, be resolved by @Colin-H
I mentioned the 7 CD Gaughan R/Evolution set to my good friend, Mick who is a big DG fan. This prompted him to get back to me asking if I knew how to get hold of the early 80’s album, Parallel Lines by DG & Andy Irvine. He has searched online etc. without success.
Anybody got any thoughts?

There were two CD versions: one on the original German label (Folk Freak / Wundertute – same label owner, Carsten Linde) in 1988, one on US label Appleseed, remastered, 1999 (with a bonus track from the ‘Folk Friends 2’ (Folk Freak, 1981) project, sung by Andy).
There’s ONE copy of the Appleseed CD on ebay UK currently for £10.78 – none on Discogs. I suggest your pal acts quickly!
The ‘R/evolution: 1969/83’ box set includes newly mastered audio of all three of the Gaughan-sung tracks from ‘Parallel Lines’ plus all three of the Gaughan-sung tracks from ‘Folk Friends 2’. 🙂
Although ‘Parallel Lines’ is more of an Andy Irvine album (in my view), Dick remains proud of the epic ‘Floo’ers o’ the Forest’ that they recorded:
Thank you Colin. Great info. I will pass it on to Mick. You the man!
Keep on rocking, Calif – in a Scots socialist and folk-influenced manner, obviously!
Your words are remarkably apt, Colin. Still in Perth, I was rocking when I visited the Stone of Destiny display in the museum today.
Rocking by the Rock!
Do you say ‘scone’ or scone’? Or ‘Scone’?
And is it the Stone of Scone or the Stone of Scone and which goes on first the cream or the jam?
And the answer, of course, is scone.
But seriously though, for the baked good, I say scone (rhymes with phone). However, those who are a tad more genteel than I might say scone (rhymes with on). For the big hoose just outside Perth, I believe it is Scone (rhymes with soon). I had a couple of newly baked scones in Motherwell on Monday and it was butter/cream/jam. Lovely!
Keep on Gaughan’ in the Free World!
Search YOU TUBE or TUNEPAT 4 DG – U will find what you want there including “Parallel Lines” plus most of his albums.
If U sign up to Tunepat etc U can download his albums – I have a YT & Tunepat subscription that works well 4 me. Uncertain of the UK cost – BUT well worth It.
Good Hunting.
Thank you @Jack-Kelsey I will pass your comments on to my chum. Though, I don’t think he’s a ‘downloading’ sorta guy.
