Obituary
I was a big fan of Dave who was a fine keyboard player. I’m a sucker for a Hammond organ. Probably best known as a member of Colosseum but also Greenslade, If and even Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band for a short time.

Obituary
The former Dr Hook singer has passed at age 76. He was a fine singer with a very recognisable voice. The only one of his gigs I attended was in 2008 when he was a member of Bill Wyman & the Rhythm KIngs. He gave a fine performance.
‘And it’s one, two, three, what are we fighting for…’
Probably came to the attention of people (like me) of a certain vintage with his rendition of ‘I Feel Like I’m Fixin’ to Die Rag’ at Woodstock in the ’60’s, he has died at age 84. I believe he continued his varied career until fairly recently. Finally succumbed to Parkinsons Disease.
And we still don’t really know what we’re fighting for
So, reality sucks. I’ve decided to investigate the world of VR for some temporary escape. I don’t know a lot about the options as far as VR kit is concerned. I see Meta Quest 3S and the more expensive Meta Quest 3-512GB online. I wonder if anyone has any knowledge and advice. I’m not a gamer although I do have a very old Nintendo in the attic. It’s been there since we saved the princess in the 90’s

So, I mentioned in the ‘Vote for Colin’* post that I would be posing a question which would, most likely, be resolved by @Colin-H I mentioned the 7 CD Gaughan R/Evolution set to my good friend, Mick who is a big DG fan. This prompted him to get back to me asking if I knew how to get hold of the early 80’s album, Parallel Lines by DG & Andy Irvine. He has searched online etc. without success. Anybody got any thoughts? *My vote has now been cast.
Just heard he died a couple of days ago. Mainly will be remembered as one of the Yardbirds as guitarist and then bass player. I always thought of him as the quiet one. He got involved in potography for a while too. Got involved with a later version of the Yardbirds but had to quit about 12 years ago for health reasons. Apparently, Jimmy Page offered him membership of his new band as bass player back in the day.
Obituary
At the age of 73, he passed away on Friday after a short illness. I still have both Curved Air and Sky albums from back in the day but I kinda lost touch with him along the way. I know he was involved in various film soundtracks and worked with some top musicians. Gone too young.
Obituary
Although I was aware of him for most of my life, I couldn’t have named anything from his oeuvre. He seems to have ‘gone ape’ in the 50’s and was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Adam Faith and Cliff Richard. Apparently, Lennon & McCartney sought his autograph when he appeared in Liverpool. He liked a bow tie – and the bigger the better.
Obituary
Gone at 96. What a man, what a life! Music, acting, politics, humanitarianism. I remember back in the late 50’s or early 60’s, as a small child, singing ‘There’s a Hole in my Bucket’. Emmys, grammys. Sadly gone.
Obituary
He was the man who wrote and co-wrote songs of Procol Harum, A Whiter Shade of Pale being the most famous and long standing. He also wrote the lyrics for the songs of other artistes. He was 76.
Obituary
A great drummer who played with Derek & the Dominos and also had involvement with many other artistes (The Beach Boys, The Byrds, Traffic). Sadly, he died in prison where he had been since 1983 after murdering his mother. A man with many life problems.
Obituary
A great musician who played with virtually everyone
Obituary
Anthony ‘Top’ Topham has died aged 75. He was the original guitarist with the Yardbirds for a brief period only to be replaced by a certain Eric Clapton. He rejoined the band a few years ago for another brief period.
Obituary
He wrote & co-wrote and produced many great songs out of Philadelphia for many great performers.
Obituary
At age 75, another legend from Fife, has passed away. He came up with the likes of Barbara Dickson, Billy Connelly and, Afterword hero, Gerry Rafferty back in the day.
Obituary
A great rawk singer from Dunfermline with his band Nazareth has died at age 76.
I have a spare ticket for tonight at the QM Glasgow as my mate called off this morning due to illness. Happy to let it go for anything up to face value (£15). Doors at 7pm but I imagine the band won’t be on till nearer 9pm
Powerhouse drummer with Tear Gas (later to become the Sensational Alex Harvey Band), Rory Gallagher, Michael Schenker, he has passed away due to complications during a surgical operation (hernia I believe) aged 68.
I remember first seeing him playing with the Dream Police and then Tear Gas early 70’s. I last saw him a few years ago with Gerry McAvoy and a Dutch guitarist doing Rory Gallagher songs. Gone too soon.
I can’t see any comments. Is there a problem?
