Take it Away!*
Absolutely love this track. So much to enjoy – the lithe drum opening, Paul’s bass, the ‘Got to Get You Into My Life’ horns, Linda’s backing vocals (oh yes) and this wonderfully nostalgic, none-more-Macca-lyric:
In the audience, watching the show
With a paper in his hand
Some important impresario
Has a message for the band

Great song…as is this, one of my own favourites:

What’s really annoying about that film clip is that I’m now only a year younger than George Martin was when he appeared in it 🙁
Read in a paper this morning that following The Stones’ LP, ‘Aftermath’ (a connection with ‘taking away’!), Ringo suggested the Fabs’ next LP should be called ‘After Geography’.
It’s genius.
Why on earth didn’t they go with it?

(one listen to that, and I am twenty five years ago, pinwheeling round a lager soaked Plymouth dance floor with a hundred or so other likeminded souls. Happy days)
When I first saw that video, I had no idea who John Hurt was. Likewise, I wouldn’t have recognised George Martin. And if pushed, I would’ve gone round the houses before recognising Ringo Starr.
Mo matter – I bought the single, and still rate it as one of Maccas best (better than Ebony & Ivory by a long way!).
Pauls old mate Billy Preston knew a bit about maths too:
These guys know nothing about maths – they thine one and one is one!

and Haircut 100 went all algebraic
If love is the question – the answer is yes.
If this was by Scritti Politti, we’d all be saying it was genius.
The ‘waddy!
Some more multiplication. Quite what 49 has to do with Charlie Bubbles, I really can’t say.
14?
Imagine a girl’s knees in a position that resembles a figure of math, meaning greater than.
