My wife has a very precious, signed T-shirt which she wants to get framed. We’ve asked a couple of recommended places and the going rate for both starts at an eye-watering £250.
Has anyone had experience of this for either a t-shirt or a football shirt, and are there any recommended framers who do it regularly, in the southern half of England?
TYIA.
In 2021 I received a signed T20 shirt from cricketer Alex Hales. I bought a frame for it from Amazon for about £40 as I recall.
Thanks. I did think about doing it myself but it’s too precious.
Hi Niall
If my framer hadn’t retired I’d have recommended him in a heartbeat but unfortunately… I can tell you that that price is extortionate. My framer would have charged you around £60 to £80 for such work. My advice would be to find a local framer ask if they have framed any shirts before which if they have been trading for any length of time they probably will have as it’s not unusual work for a framer to undertake and take it to them. Ask to see evidence that they have indeed undertaken such work before just to be on the safe side but If they start quoting ridiculous prices such as £250 walk away and go to the next nearest until you find one who hasn’t got a leg missing and a parrot on their shoulder. Pob lwc.
Thanks, P. That’s sound advice. Hope you’re well x
No idea how much they would quote, but as far as quality of work is concerned, I can recommend this little shop/gallery, who I have used several times in the past:

Thanks, Foxy, I’ll give them a look.
My wife got a shirt she was wearing signed by Bono back in 1991 outside Birmingham NEC, I stuck it in a £10 frame from the Works and it had pride of place in our house for about 10 years. The kids came along and it has stayed in the back of our airing cupboard for the last 20 years. When we’ve gone the kids will throw it in a skip when clearing the house. Shame really🙁
I have an Oasis shirt from the infamous early 90s Newcastle Riverside gig. I posted a photo of it on a Facebook site only last week, as someone asked if anyone had any items from the gig. The shirt has discoloured, isn’t autographed, has no tour dates and is probably too far gone to be worn again, but the original poster contacted me asking to buy it. I could only assume he wanted to frame it.
