And there’s the interesting link between Brass bands and Acid House as suggested by Jeremy Deller.
If this link works it also includes a picture of the artwork where Deller shows the fundamental connectedness of […] -

Didn’t Lord Sugar (I’ve always thought it is a great name for a pimp) write ‘Best wishes Alan Sugar’ in his wife’s birthday card?

Thanks for the encouragement! I didn’t realise how hard it is to write about music.

I’m going to strongly, if belatedly disagree that the album ‘Everything Now’ is awful.
I think we can all agree that the marketing campaign pre-release was badly judged. I’m only now just able to unclench […] -

I think Locust may be leading the pack. Although the idea that Ian P is named after Ian Paisley is intriguing.
Isn’t Alizée an 80’s drink like Bezique?

Inspired by Paul Wad’s comment in the Kraftwerk thread, I share my birthday with:
John Lennon and Brian out of Westlife – two pillars of the Pop Parthenon.
An unbeatable hand, unless you know differently? -

I think the music press took against him because he was unashamedly glorying in some aspects of the pop star lifestyle including a lot of shagging, if I may be blunt. He’s no-one’s idea of a classically handsome […]

Yep, that’s a tune. I remember a version on a tape that Q gave away with a much longer run-out with Mick and Pete discussing at length how much walking had been done.

According to Twitter, that’s Kirsty (from the original multitrack) doing the “Bay-By”, as Tracey couldn’t hit the high notes.

I like most of the Jack Reacher range. The new one ‘Make Me’ is a return to form. Recent crap book was ‘Purity’ by Jonathan Franzen. God it was so disappointing. I would have regarded him an untouchable until […]

There’s also the extended version on the album which grinds to a wonderfully shambolic finish underpinned by Makoto Sakamoto’s driving drums.

My uncle was gutted when I told him that his bon mot to a double bass player in an airport ” I bet you wish you played the piccolo” was a very frequent and unoriginal comment. Crushed, he was. Not by the double bass, though.

I over took him on the M6 in the ORV1L Mercedes. He looked like he was driving his young niece to her piano lesson. Or it could have been one of the four Mrs Harrises.
