How can you not like Daryl? He brings out the best from so many artists.
But he gets extra points from me for championing Rumer. Such a superb voice.
I chatted briefly with her at the merch table after her gig at Kägelbanan a few years back.
Impossible not to like her: she’s so ridiculously charming. I’m a sucker for voluptuous Pakistani-Scottish pop stars.
Great post @cleanersvenus
Daryl Hall and Robert Fripp, yeah you’d expect them to be mates – not.
So it took KC 3 days to learn it. Presumably this is a tricked down version?
Sounded pretty much as KC would do it, except for the added keyboards.
But bear in mind that King Crimson need to have a whole load of other equally-complex pieces in their heads too, when they go out on tour. And unless my eyes decieve me, the primary drummer of King Crimson, Pat Mastelotto, who’s been with the band since the ’90s and must have played that tune hundreds of times, was on the kit for that clip.
It’s Brian Dunne who is a regular on Live from Daryl’s House. He and Klyde Jones who is bass player on this were both members of the Average White Band a few years back.
Some really superb performances available. As a King Crimson fan, the one below is one of my favourites…(!)
That Rumer session is stupendous.

Good gracious!
Just watched the OP video – that is truly amazing. If that was their first run-through…mind blowing!
Disappoint not to see Toyah doing her trademark jiggling about, but insanely good nevertheless.
Stunning! Another triumph for Daryll’s House.
The dinner chat was amusing. Daryll and Robert went to see a Ramones gig!

Are you sure that’s Mastelotto? He’s changed a bit if it is

Yes. My eyes WERE deceiving me, it seems.
I think it’s Brian Dunne, Daryl’s regular drummer on LADH. And a fine drummer he is too.
Doesn’t sound a whole lot different from the original actually.
Fripp probably wouldn’t do that with Jools Holland and his band. Jools honky-tonkying whenever the fcuk he liked.
Hmmmm. “Cat Food” you say? Now how would Fats have played it….
