Love the Clockwork Orange disc and the promo Running On Empty – great haul!
I’ve got a promo copy of Grievous Angel that came complete with press cuttings from the NME – byline: Chrissie Hynd (sic) – and Sounds and Melody Maker, a glossy B&W portrait photo of the artist and a Warner Brothers (54 Greek Street, London W1 01-439-4511) two-page marketing missive advertising the forthcoming re-release of ‘GP’ on April 23rd 1976. I love it when you happen across these things – it fixes the disc to a very precise time.
I can never bring myself to ever spend actual money on those ToTP albums, or anything similar, because the music varies between awful or painfully awful.
There’s a great episode of Charity Shop Classics where Gavin & Simon play awful tracks from covers LPs at each other.

Sleeve art by Don Martin, the great artist for Mad magazine.

These budget albums are usually trash but this one from 1985 is probably the rarest of them all as it’s #92, the last one they ever made and it has Linda Lusardi on the cover.

I have the OST with the movie design on the front but this is the complete original score.

As well as a great compilation I also love the great glossy sleeve on this UK issue.

Good timing finding this late 70’s compilation on Beggars Banquet. I will be going to the 5th Groovy Record Fayre this coming Saturday and the artist for this sleeve Savage Pencil aka Edwin Pouncey is always in attendance, so hope to get it signed by the great man!

yeah but… that TOTP, along with a few of the other last ones in the series sell for 3 figures, so that was my main motivation for buying it yer honour.

case closed 😉
The pop-up record shop in Cromer keeps them behind the counter, for a man who comes in to buy them, and puts them into picture frames. Erm..
A few came with free giant posters of sexy ladies in swimsuits, they alone are coveted by “collectors”
That’s bonkers. Is it because some of them have recordings by artists who were famous later on?
