Given how good they were this summer, this is fantastic news
He will appear in Glasgow on 29 June at Bellahouston Park with Elvis Costello & the Imposters as support. Perhaps he will repeat his 1976 busking moment outside the entrance of Glasgow Central Station.
Elvis is at Chelmsford too.
Oooh. I skipped his Dublin gig this year and when I watched him doing Glasto three days later I was kicking myself. The added attraction(lol!) of Elvis is a nice thing.

So excited to see him on sand bill as Elvis Costello – a nice day out at Blenheim too.
Can’t wait.
And then we have The Waterboys Fishermans Blues revue with Steve Wickham returning and Steve Earle in the band and singing his own songs.
Even I’m tempted by NY/EC @ Blenheim, even if that is where I last left Elvis to it, his voice then a travesty.
Likewise W’boys/SE. Funnily enough, the Waterboys were supporting EC that same day, one of the last gigs with Mr Wickham. And, apart from, like Elvis, the intrusive presence of girlie bvs, a great gig.
The Waterboys supporting that has been Costello, the world’s definitely going bonkers
Let’s be honest, they’re both trading on past glories and I would argue that EC has a great deal more to trade on.
Indeed.
But what magnificent past glories they are trading on!
And how gloriously the all continue to trade on those past glories on stage night after night…
So would I but no point in arguing about it with @Pyramid as he is not a fan of one of our best songwriters.
Torn between going to Cork or flying over to Bleinhelm for Neil.
Anyone recommend some good hotels in and around BP?

Anyone who ones to get a more up close and personal Neil experience might take a look at Cork Virgin Media Park – capacity of just 15K
The Waterboys/Steve Earle will have to be Glasgow for me – other dates clash with a planned holiday.
Back to Woodstock for Neil. Somehow I doubt the crowd will be skinny dipping in the lake or watching out for the brown acid.
They’d be advised to watch out for brown somethings if they see me heading over to the lake with all my dangly bits on show
