I came late to them via the album with Ben Harper maybe 20 years ago, There is a Light (on checking, 2004), which I commend, ahead of them popping up along all sorts, such as one of the RT tribute LPs. doing a great Dimming of the Day.
Not even slightly religious myself, but I do love to hear a good gospel group or choir.
I expect this is one of the things the Blind Boys would be remembered for here.
I was at the 100 Club on Monday night to see Eli Paperboy Reed with the High and Mighty Brass Band. They did a tremendous version of that song. He said that the new album sounds just like they do live. It if that is true it will be a contender for album of the year.
Run On features as a track on their sublime album Spirit Of The Century from 2001. One of the truly greatest albums of the last 20 years. IIRC Ry Cooder makes an appearance or two.
This one not featuring Clarence but it’s Gospel with a capital G

Fans of gospel and soul should check it.
Saw them at Lewisham Town Hall around 2003. Rollicking, joyous gig, and despite his obvious disability Clarence really dominated the stage.
Sad news.
