Obituary
Sad to see that one of the UK’s best boxers of the 21st Century has not yet got an obit.
Sad that a man who seems to have loved people as much as they loved him struggled with so many demons towards the end of his life
RIP, Hitman

Yesterday’s tribute at the Etihad
I’m a bringer of both good and bad news, Jaygee. The good and the bad news is that there already is an obit (in the “obits” section).
Looked in the recently updated section but couldn’t see any mention of Bargepole’s earlier obit.
Think this is because posts which do not get any comments do not appear on the recently updated list and promptly sink without trace as no one knows they are there
Anyway, my apologies to Bargepole
Thing is most of these “obituaries” are just death announcements and are covered in way more detail elsewhere (perhaps with music related ones being exceptions).
I have read a couple of things saying he struggled with “demons” in his post boxing career. But they were clearly always there as he was a practising alcoholic throughout his time as a top boxer. Also if you struggle with mental health then repeated blows to the head are unlikely to prove helpful. Sad story
They occasionally get a bit of a debate going though and are far less prevalent (and annoying than the plethora of Turdle threads
Well we agree on that point
Perhaps we could combine the two
