Have to admit I was taken aback at reading “…the last living Easybeat”, specially as it came after reading that Justin Hayward is now “…the last living Moody”; it’s like Alan Moore said, we’re in mortality country and there are no guides.
Not a bad old song and, were there to be a resurgence of interest in power pop, could break a few waves. I have a soft spot for the Easybeats and for Flash & the Pan (even if the quoted 6 records produced only 2 decent songs) That Vanda’s writing, playing and production buddy, George Young, shares the name of someone very dear to me is maybe part of that.
On power pop, I have just been sent a DL of a tribute album to the Raspberries. Even with the likes of Lou Gramm, a couple of Bangles and Rick Springfield, it remains too fawningly xerographical.
It’s ok a bit too Mark McEntee ( Divinyls) jagged for mine. If he has a stack of stuff lying around I’m interested.
Can’t say I followed Flash &the Pan enough to either challenge or endorse your comment Retro.

I only know Flash and The Pan for Waiting for a train (of course ) which is ace but I imagine not representative.
