I was only 12 the last time TH played the UK. I was too wee to go, and the only other person I knew who liked TH was my 14-y-o cousin who lived in Cornwall. Wembley is hardly round the corner from Falmouth.
Stop Making Sense full concert for the first time ever on vinyl. 2 LP with a reproduction of the original booklet from the 1984 limited edition pressing and additional pages with never before seen photos. Includes brand new notes written by Chris, David, Jerry and Tina. The tracklist includes previously unreleased tracks “Cities” and “Big Business/I Zimbra.”
Tracklist:
1. Psycho Killer
2. Heaven
3. Thank You for Sending Me an Angel
4. Found a Job
5. Slippery People
6. Cities (PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED)*
7. Burning Down the House
8. Life During Wartime
9. Making Flippy Floppy
10. Swamp
11. What a Day That Was
12. This Must Be the Place (Naïve Melody)
13. Once in a Lifetime
14. Big Business/I Zimbra (PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED)*
15. Genius of Love
16. Girlfriend is Better
17. Take Me to the River
18. Crosseyed and Painless
I have a bootleg CD of this and they extras are, as you might imagine, aces.
@dai You saved me the trouble of pointing that out. Busta Jones and Adrian Belew add to every track on Disc 2. Also features the best ever version of Life During Wartime. The transition from the slow intro groove of Crosseyed and Painless into the full on high speed groove is possibly my favourite moment in recorded music (vinyl version only of course – they edited it out of the “expanded”, CD release. Unforgivable!
Having said all that, with Stop Making Sense, the visuals and the versions of songs are inseparable in my mind.
I wonder if the new theatrical release will also show New Order / Perfect Kiss as the pre main feature short film as they did when original was shown (and whether that has been updated to 4K)
Time for dancing in the aisles again!
Lord, how many times I have I bought this? LP, CD, remastered CD, VHS, DVD, 1K BD. I’m sure I missed one…
How about the actual concert ?

Oh, for a time machine!
That Wembley gig was incredible. I haven’t been to a better gig since, and I’ve been to a lot of great gigs.
I should have gone. Not sure why I didn’t
By the way, from the official TH store site:

Another one I bought 4 times, vinyl, VHS, CD and DVD. Will I buy again? It’s great but I don’t think so
* And “The Name of This Band is Talking Heads” is a better live album …

er wasn’t it 1984
It was, but it was filmed in 1983.
I’ve just seen it listed to order at an online shop. Forty eight quid for two LPs and some printed matter. Zoinks!
