This film was panned on release but I’ve watched it on occasion and thought it ok. Enjoyed his singing on Wild Colonial Boy and the songs by Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson used in the soundtrack.
Twas a huge thing down here especially with Marianne OD’ing. Famously he wrote Brown Sugar on set, it would seem after playing guitar as rehab for an injury incurred on set.
As it happens I met a woman who was a girl at the time. Their property was used for some of the filming and the family became good friends with Mick. She claimed they would see him on some tours and had ongoing contact.
Might help if I posted the link.

Thanks, Junior – a lovely read. I’m posting this link here because most won’t get past the paywall (try signing in for a 2 articles a week freebie) to look at a jolly spiffing interview with Macca

Nice article.
Brown Sugar still sounds fantastic today but I can’t imagine anyone writing those lyrics in the 21st Century.
