Obituary
Reports in confirm rumours that Mick Abrahams has passed away. Arguably the founder of The Mighty Tull, his vision and Ian’s were never going to last long, and I’m not of the “downhill all the way after the first album” persuasion but it’s a good piece of work all the same. I saw him guest with TMT in St. Albans some years ago and he was still belting out 70s style blues rock like a good ‘un.

Not sure about the ‘downhill all the way’ given their run of 45s and Stand Up, but it’s definitely my favourite LP by the ‘thros’ (something no one ever calls them!).
Didn’t it also pitch up over the speakers at Woodstock and subsequently feature in the film?
I’m surprised you didn’t draw under under the ‘Thros after their first 45, ‘Sunshine Day’.
“… his vision and Ian’s were never going to last long …”
which is why Blodwyn Pig exists:
Exactly. Double bubble!
Sad news.
I was definitely rather fond of BLODWYN PIG.
That’s a sad loss.
I recall The Mick Abrahams Band being on ToTP, when they had that short lived experiment of an LP slot. Mick performed Greyhound Bus, from his album A Musical Evening With The Mick Abrahams Band.
Here they are on Top of The Pops
