Bugger! Don’t know how many of you were fans, but l certainly was, and although l never held out high hopes for him leading a long life, he’s still gone way too soon. Peace Queer is my favourite album, but what a songwriter and storyteller he was. Funny, compassionate, and political. What’s not to like?

This is really sad news. One of my favourites and just bought his recent album, the track ‘While we still have a chance’ is lovely. Would have loved to see him live but I don’t recall him coming to the UK much , if at all. Judging by YouTube clips and live albums his gigs were where he was in his element combining great music and hilarious ramblings between songs.
I saw him at The Borderline in London about 12 years ago. Not one of his best gigs (could have been jet lag / ill / drugs) but still chuffed l saw him in person.
Saw this yesterday, sad news. I picked up on East Nashville Skyline and have dipped in and out since. Things seem to have got messy over the past few weeks, shame as its no age.
I suspect many can relate to Vinyl Records.
Big fan here….right from songs from the daily planet.
Sad, sad news.
