I’m surprised nobody mentioned Songs From The West Coast (2001) by Elton John. The whole album is amongst his best but American Triangle is devastating.

The last song on Dark Matter, Wandering Boy. I have only heard it once. I was walking in public and had to dive down a dark alley to blub in private. Funny thing is both my sons are very much at home curse them.

Love em’ or loathe them I think the best remasters I’ve ever heard were the ones done to all the Queen albums and greatest hits. Night and day difference for the better. (Steven Wilson does remixes so they don’t count).

Maybe it was my era but I never expected any more of a venue. I was happy to be able to get close to the bands I loved, sweaty and home in under an hour.
