In fact I’m in Rainhill now having my roof repaired. The roofers have got their radio perched on the chimney stack so I’ve now got Blondie’s ‘The tide is high’ blaring out through my gas fire!

Slightly off topic, but I only found out a few months ago that the editor of ‘The Quietus’, John Doran, is from my home town, Rainhill in Merseyside. I emailed him about this and got a reply. Good man.
