As soon as the name Miranda was mentioned, I took my leave of the ‘Big Night In’ thingy last night…but this popped up somewhere on my feed this morning, and I think as these collaborations go, this is rather good. Thoughts…?

I listened up until the singing started. It was fine up til then, but I couldn’t listen to any more of the singer.
Hmmm…many more than the one singer?
Sorry. 🙁
But you did ask for thoughts.
I guess my reaction was akin to yours regarding Miranda. At least we can agree on her. 😉
This went down very well in our house last night. The pop kids were very excited that Dua, Anne-Marie, Jess & Sigrid we’re all on the one track. (I liked it too!)
I only recognised the Biffy boys and the Foos, and the Royal Blood drummer.
And Ellie Goulding, but what the hell has she done to her arm?
The fact that it is a great song helps it no end.
Not always a big fan of these “all-star collaborations”, but that aint bad at all.
(Just wish is a bit gruffer in it’s vocal delivery – a bit too clean for my tastes)
featuring Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen
Up.
It is a good song and well put together given the circs.
It made me want to look at this again. I think I heard it on the radio first time and the Bowie line “you made me forget myself” is one of those moments that give me an emotional pang.
That Perfect Day one still stands up doesn’t it? Such an interesting mix of artists.
And this new one is really well done too; I like it.
It’s interesting to know that this version of Perfect Day wasn’t a charity thing initially. It was an ad for the BBC and each artist agreed to be paid a nominal fee of 250 quid.
I disliked this intensely. Heather Small? Ugh! Anytime Tom Jones gets involved is a no no. All that huffing and puffing and over emoting is hideous. Ruined that song for ever for me. Better to leave these things undiscovered by the wider public. I avoided the God Only Knows monstrosity, knowing that would be another such abomination. Easier now I no longer live in the UK. The Foo Fighters one I can happily listen to since I have no feelings whatsoever for their back catalogue.
