I often use YouTube to view British Pathe films, old clips of cities/towns, Tourist information films etc etc but rarely bother with ‘music’. Today however I thought I would listen to Taylor Swift’s 1989 but, when I press ‘play’ the slider along the bottom it starts to move (from 00.00 to 48.46) but at no point can I actually hear anything!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Immediately below the slider are some playback controls.
Is the ‘Mute/Unmute’ in the Mute position?
It will be the copyright police – sometimes unofficial posted music will have the audio removed by youtube – Prince is one in particulasr I have dseen this for
Is the correct answer. YouTube uses something called ContentID. It scans all videos for a match on copyrighted material. Once identified, the choices are generally to take the video down or mute the sound. It’s supposed to be for when you film your family and there is something copyrighted playing in the background. But don’t get me started on that.
Or it could be age-related hearing impairment. You might also find an increase in nasal hair.
Or a tendency to watch Pathe films.
