Hello chums – and apologies to those of you who spotted this page wasn’t working properly earlier –
A number of you have kindly contacted us to ask if you can contribute towards our hosting costs, so we’ve created a new “Donate” page for those who wish to do so. You’ll find it on our navigation bar, or simply head on over to this page.
There is no obligation to donate – and we recognise that not everyone is in a position to donate right now – but we do hugely appreciate anything that you are able to give.
Thanks
Hannah x

Excellent idea!
The last time I chipped in we had the Drupal of Doom within hours…
I’M WATCHING YOU VULPES. DON’T BREAK THE SITE AGAIN.
I’m sure Mrs F would like to pay you to avoid listening to my rambling nonsense.
Most fortuitous the way your warning to Foxy has a big red box around it.
That’s telling him!
Happy to chuck a few quid in to keep the home fires burning.
My offer to make and offer up a piece of artwork to raise funds still stands if it can be worked out. A raffle perhaps.
A few coppers from me too. Keep up the great work, Hannah & her Sisters (and Brothers)…
I have been asked to say a few (after)words to all those assembled here in the parish. It appears I have been nominated as “treasurer” because of my past doings as the treasurer of a national charity and fat controller of the mighty G-MEX. I am the guilty party who set up the Paypal account in a hurry to enable this mighty website to get off the ground when far more intelligent people initially started the project. At the time it was impossible to set up any other banking facility to take in donations and pay the bills for internet hosting, etc. I have passed on the necessary Paypal instructions to enable the donate button to sit on the site.
A massive thank you to all who have donated throughout the day and especially to those who have donated regularly in the past. Without you all none of this would have been possible. I see my role now as finding a way to find an easier option than Paypal and see if this may need a proper constituted body, organisation or whatever the Afterword really is. I am not party to any admin or moderator discussions so I cannot predict what that format will be. In my role of auditing the account I can say the only outgoings have been monthly payments for the site hosting and new fees to set up the site afresh, mainly in US$.
The only way to set up the Paypal account quickly was to do this in my name as administrator. That is why there appears a message “PayPal securely processes donations for Stephen Green”. The account is accessed by others who are admins and who pay the bills. I rarely visit the account except when a request comes through from admins with a query. If anyone wants further information I am happy to provide it with the permission of admins and also preserving the confidentiality of donors. All the clever stuff of keeping this and the previous site operating was done by others behind the scenes purely for the love of “musing on the byways of popular culture”.
I find PayPal really keen Beanz. It is really easy to set up and smooths transactions.
Done. Never mind servers, buy beer.
….and when I woke up somebody had removed one of my kidneys and exchanged it for some Max Boyce records….
