I bought two Kindle ebooks for the first time in six months. Both times I got this message on the confirmation of purchase screen: “You own Audible narration for this Kindle Book”. This to me means that the audiobook is included with the ebook.
I clicked on the PC Audible link to see my library and it is totally empty.
Am I misunderstanding something?

Doubt very much they’d throw in an audible version of the book for free, but I might be wrong.
Have you tried checking/adding the customer questions that appear down the side of the page!
.
Good luck in getting in touch with Amazon Customer Service if you’ve not

I didn’t expect a free audiobook. I assume it’s a misprint as usually they offer the audiobook version at a discount after you buy the ebook. I will just be a pleb and read instead of listen.
I think what happens is if you have both audible and kindle version (for some but not all) the kindle version will pair with the audible (at least via the Kindle app (haven’t got a Kindle device with audio facility but I gather some do have audio out).
On the app the cover will have a headphone icon in top right.
You can seamlessly add narration to reading. Text is highlighted. Change speed to e.g. 1.3 which is not too “pinky and perky” and if following the text is to me a more natural reading speed.
On the Kindle app can filter books with audible narration.
