How come Hellen and Epworth never pop in here to say hello? Where’s the love?
Mischievous answer: Because Hepworth doesn’t like us and Ellen doesn’t have a computer.
Probably true too. They like us enough to sell us their books or attend their gigs.
Mark Ellen is aware of the site and told me he was really touched by the idea that we’ve kept the flame. I don’t think he’ll be logging in anytime soon as he doesn’t really ‘do’ the internet, he didn’t post on the old Word site, he used to get Fraser to do it.
No idea what Hepworth thinks of us – if he had an opinion I’m sure he’d have shared it by now -but seems only fair that we support the WIYE events and Podcasts and it’s nice of Magic Alex to give you a few quid off the tickets,
I was merely being cheeky, as is my wont. I properly like both of them and have done since seeing them on WT when I was ten or whatever – it was the main attraction of The Word itself. It’s been great to have the podcast resurrected. All power to their (possibly leather) elbows.
It’s a minor irritation TBH but we continue to treat them as minor celebs by featuring their gigs etc but they don’t deign to pop in even to say hello. If they just want to be another pair of hacks flogging events, books etc why don’t we treat them as such? Philosophical question as much as anything.
