Great fun. I’m sure many a band would be improved by having the lovely Janice grooving away on guitar, and Animal on drums and, erm, vocals.
The Wikipedia page for Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem is very good, and real proof of the care and attention that has gone into these and all the other Muppets.
For example, I learnt that Dr Gerald Teeth Jr (to give him his full name) introduced himself in The Muppet Movie with “Golden teeth and golden tones. Welcome to my presence.”
I also like this quote from bassist Floyd Pepper: “Kermit, you are talking to Floyd Pepper! The hippest of the hip! I mean I have a room for life at the home of the chronically groovy!” I’m sure many of us here have a room at the same home.
I also learnt that the members of this “rocktocracy” hold real instruments: Floyd has settled on Fender basses and Janice favours a Gibson Les Paul with sunburst finish. So now you know.
Long may they and their puppeteers continue to “Woo-hoo!”
I note in the clip above both Floyd and Janice are left handed. Floyd is playing a lefty Rickenbacker 4001, and Janice a lefty Sea Foam Green Telecaster.
Let me assure you that latter is bloody hard to come by in real life. I’d give a body part for a decent one. Being a muppet obviously pays some heavy dough.
Kermit is also a leftie, I think you’ll find lots of them are as the puppeteers’ dominant hands will be moving the head of their muppet. The muppet’s right hand is rod controlled.
That was an unexpected, lively start to my Monday morning. Thanks @Chrisf.
That’s class.
As you’d expect from The Muppet Show

That’s fantastic, but is it “the Swedish Chef does Rapper’s Delight” fantastic?
The chef is really rocking the house! Thanks!!
As a result, this Monday wasn’t quite so Blue
