The Wizzas are on tour around GB as I type. I’ll be at Glasgow, November 12.#

I was at The Stables on Tuesday, Colin. The band are on great form. New Boy Mark is a great addition and seems to have given AP an energy-shot. I managed to catch a word with Mark afterwards and told him he did a great job, and that he has his own sound, that he looked like he loved the twin lead parts with Andy. He seemed genuinely grateful for the compliment. I said I first saw Ted in ’72, pre-Argus and, whilst they were big shoes to fill, the fans really want to hear him be himself.
The other thing I noticed is that Andy & Bob were smiling a lot, always a good sign.
Splendid – yes, I believe Andy has felt a bit of an energy injection, which I guess is what you want from a new colleague. I always liked Muddy’s sound and restrained/measured approach, and I found him a very interesting man on the handful of times we chatted, but bands are like jobs, ultimately, and sometimes people must feel the need to move on – like they would in any job. I honestly don’t know anything more about why Muddy moved on, but there was no acrimony – it was in between tourring commitments with plenty of time for a new recruit to rehearse and make arrangements to spend time on the road. Looking forward to hearing Mark in Glasgow.
