Yes, it’s nearly that time of the year again: Wishbone Ash’s annual UK tour. Begins on October 16, ends a month later in Clithero. I’m going to a couple of the Yorkshire shows. A link to the dates is herein.
I don’t know any secret info but Andy has hinted that with the US/UK exchange rate as it is, UK tours are no longer guaranteed. If you live in the Uk and fancy catching the Ash, I wouldn’t leave it till next time if I were you.
Here are the chaps last week in America:

That. Is. Proper. Bloody. Great.

Top tune.
They need to throw a few more shapes though.
Thoroughly enjoyed that….wish I looked good with a ‘v’….
I’ve been invited to see Martin Turner next month. Has anyone seen him lately? The gig is in East London and I’m catching up with some friends and as Andy Powell isn’t playing London on his current tour I’ll be checking out Mr Turner.
A week and a half and I’ll be in Yorkshire, not only lunching with Sarah McQuaid (on her way from Northumberland to Leeds, mid tour) but squeezing in a Stockton Brooks Williams gig on a night off before the last two Wishbone Ash dates on this year’s UK tour (and Luna, if it makes you feel any better, they didn’t come to any part of Ireland this year either, hence the trip oop nawth or, er, over the sea and eastward a bit as it is from Belfast…). Amazing – seeing several musical pals on one short trip. I remember one time we had a whole week in Yorkshire and the best we could do for music the whole week was travelling down to Burnley or somewhere for a Bruce Cockburn show – and Mrs H thought he was a bore. And then there was a week in the Lawe District where we missed coinciding with a Gary Boyle concert by one day… The planets are aligned this time!
Here’s a splendid ‘The King Will Come’ from a few weeks ago:
I suggest you go to Northumberland too. ‘Bone or not.
Mmmm.
