Me too. Not sure why anyone needs to post a video for Bowie Starman or Penny Lane to name but two. I must say I rarely get around to listening to the clips that crop up. It’s also not always apparent what it is.
“I must say I rarely get around to listening to the clips” – I’m genuinely shocked by this. I was told that playing all YT clips posted here to the end was a condition of membership. That’s why I have to keep disappearing – to get some sleep, do my job etc. I feel our bond of mutual suffering has been broken. 😢
Junes, ( I call you that?) you would think an iPhone 15 would be ok, wouldn’t you? And surely an iPhone 8 isn’t that bad. Where is the Dull One (apols @fentonsteve, it’s an affectionate tribute) when you need him?
Sorry, I’ve been busy IRL this morning (cleaning the carpet, having taken the Christmas tree down; always a dull moment here).
I’ve tried my iPhone 7 on the same thread and got the same screen. I imagine it is to do with all those embedded Youtube links.
I too have a hand-me-down smartphone courtesy of an Offspring. Until last year I had a 10+ year-old old Samsung, but they turned the local 3G transmitter off.
I am one of the clip-posting guilty parties. I post from a PC with a lot of memory*, so I tend to forget that there are a lot of AW-ers on mobile devices.
Maybe to keep our blorum readable for all, our moderator overlords should, if it’s possible, put a lock on threads once a certain number of clips have been posted to them. Anyone wishing to continue could always start a Pt. 2 thread.
*Even so, the really clip-heavy threads will start to load very, very slowly.
I have a 10 inch black and white Ferguson valve set that refuses to display any Freeview channels at all, whatever the shape of the aerial I plug into the back of it.
Sadly, the rate of tech change these days makes most kit obsolete before you’ve even found all of the newest features it has. I fear this is an example of just such an event.
Yes, that would be because our normal highly paid IT infrastructure can’t be arsed so we’re relying on the 2nd tier volunteer force who also have lives.
The issue IS, as suspected, around video-heavy threads viewed on mobile devices. There’s no easy fix to this but we will be looking at ways of managing video posts differently without detracting from the ability to post them, over the next few weeks.
In the meantime, there’s no immediate way to stop this happening except to add less embedded videos into threads.
Never seen that or anything like.
Suspect the problem is your end rather than at the site, but I could be completely wrong.
I’ve had that message – long threads, YouTube heavy, on phone and on an older tablet.
Yeah it’s the Let’s Flood The Thread With Videos tendency. More than about 20 YouTube links per thread and I get this too.

Er…right.
Not enough memory or processing power on the device.
Iphone 15

Apparently you can call me that but according to Mousey I cant abbreviate.
I think you should be Juniory from now on.

I have that problem too. I have an iPhone 8 (I think) which I didn’t think was that obsolete though the sprogs are probably embarrassed by it.
Its annoying. Any techies here have a quick solution? (Not buying a new phone)

405 or 625 lines?
Hot valves…m’mmmmm…
Pig’s heart on toast. Yummee!
Ah, kids today will never know the smell of a hot EMI 2001 four-tube camera.
Rest assured, our best brains are on it
Sometimes the simple solution is the best one. Just ask the person who posts 40-50 YouTube clips on a thread they started not to do that.
Not a fan then? You never told us this 😉
Could it be anything to do with KFD having got himself another hamper?
Or the debate over Bingo Little’s favourite songs?
Mods, please inform your best brains that it is still doing it.

Not pressuring. Just adding to the info.
I’m off to sleep.
If we just ban @kaisfatdad we should be ok 😉
We’ve had to escalate this to our hosting provider to see if there’s a solution. Will keep everyone updated if and when anything changes.
Your helpful and on the ball Mod Team
Thank you Mods…appreciate it!
I’ve had that error message on both Apple devices I use here (all up to date) on video-heavy threads, which are in multi-hamper territory.

Thanks Mods. In the interim when you get that error message Afterworders, just mutter “I’ve been KFD’d”.
