Some of Scotland’s biggest bands have teamed up to raise money for their roadies who have been unable to work during the Covid pandemic.
Belle & Sebastian, The Proclaimers, Idlewild, Mogwai, Twin Atlantic, and KT Tunstall are among the artists behind a new album of cover versions.
Whole Lotta Roadies is planned for a digital release for £10 with profits going to crew members.
Much more is needed to support Roadies, Lighting, Sound, Merch etc
but it’s a start …

Marillion, bless ’em, raised over £31k for their crew with a “couch convention” event in September.

seems to me that unseen archival footage streamed for a few quid to watch might be how a lot of heritage acts could help their engineers here.
Emma Pollock has roadies? Mind you, she is tiny, so carrying a guitar must be quite fatiguing.
That sedan chair doesn’t carry itself, you know..
What an excellent initiative! Good for them
Fingers crossed that it can help.
King Crimson are selling a T shirt with the same intention….
