I will accept the name of the band or the band member who provided this quote in the sleeve notes to a CD* released in 2003. No prizes are on offer, unless you wish to have a copy of the CD* in question.
* Remember this a CD I would have in my collection, bought this week from a charity shop. Some of the tracks even make me cringe.

Hank Marvin?
Not Hank or the Shads. You win the consolation prize of the Partridge Family LP from yesterday’s charity shop expedition.
Yay!
Bee Gees
You are in the right area of the alphabet. Otherwise wrong.
I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.
Just saying,
You cheat. You probably have the CD.
It was the Pope that was the big clue.
Was it the bloke who was said to have a voice like a drowned rat?
Con, Dec or Ratty John?
It was indeed the mighty Dec Cluskey and comes from their Christmas With The Bachelors CD. Their version of Do They Know It’s Christmas Time? is a hoot and will definitely feature on a future Green Christmas CD.
This quote is also included, possibly with a great pinch of salt.

I started a thread about this very album on the old blog. We eventually worked out the picture was taken in Old Compton Street in 1964

I remember that thread and I love pictures of London from the 60s. One thing I didn’t pick up on before was the promise “the Bachelors + 16 great songs!”. So you get the Bachelors *and* 16 great songs. Bargain!
I didn’t realise double yellow lines where around as early as 1964, but a quick Google search confirms they started in 1960. I think it took a few more years before they reached the rest of the country.
