I’m not a fan of ‘fantasy’ but Games Of Thrones seemed different. The gritty realism, rampant sex, gratuitous violence and unexpected deaths of seemingly lead characters was gripping all the way through seasons 1-6. However, the fantasy parts, the white walkers, dragons, all-seeing eyes, etc, have become more and more prominent and the pool of central characters has shrunk. Sadly, I lost interest after The Battle Of The Bastards. I just know Mr Snow will be there in the final episode alongside The Dragon Queen, the nasty blond from The South and the girl with the Jedi mind tricks. Somehow, The Army Of The Dead will be beaten. If they are not, I’m not sure I care.
I might be persuaded to watch til the bitter end but my heart isn’t skipping as it was for seasons 2-5. How about you?
Just don’t start me on Line Of Duty.
