The Esher Demo is lovely. And I’d say, given George’s love of the uke, he might have been listening to George Formby. And that, in my book, is no bad thing

It’s me Grandad’s flanelette litmus paper shirt, on it I was christened one day

I really enjoyed this.
Giles Martin and Sam Okell have done a really good job in separating out the instruments so you can hear what is going on while still sounding coherent together in the mix – its much less muddy than before.
Full marks for reducing the volume of wobbly pitched organ as well
An intrusive wobbly organ is never good.

That Esher version is terrific and on Friday, 9th it’ll be those 27 songs I’ll be buying and playing.
Today Uncut came out with a free Dylan CD.
No really, not covers of his songs/blues artists who influenced him, but a Bob Dylan CD featuring 12 Bob Dylan songs from the Bootleg Series.
Once again Dylan’s people are several steps ahead of the Beatles’ people and 2,000 Light Years ahead of the Stones’ people.

A very positive review in MOJO today, but they were never going to slag it off were they? I have to say I am really looking forward to this, although my bank manager isn’t.

Ordered the 3 disc version when it was $13 on amazon Canada (now $31). As I have about 5 other versions of this album, I will pass on the deluxe unless it plummets in price.

Oh wow! Sounds brilliant on YouTube. Those vocals are heavenly. I really like the fact he’s kept Ringo on one side.
Has anyone got the new Imagine remix? Is it me or is it not much different? The big change is with I Don’t Want To Be A Soldier, which goes on too long for my taste.

I bought the video Blu-ray only, the Imagine film has the 5.1 remix in full. I thought it sounded great, but actually more surround effects on Yoko’s material (which I liked). I Don’t Want to Be a Soldier always went on a bit too long?

Gives me another excuse to share this perfect cover version:
And this isn’t bad either!

Oooh lovely! As with his mix of Good Morning last year, Giles has given Macca’s bass plenty of lovely grit here.
Aren’t these videos ace?
I wonder if ol’ Whitey will once again be the toppermost of the poppermost…

His drumming sounds great too.

Yep. Giles likes drums dunnee?
The drum sounds on his Pepper are phenomenal. The snare at the end of With a Little Help.. sounds like Tiki Fulwood.
